Welcome to the 2006 revised Lighthouse Initiative for English/Language Arts Classrooms.

This guide provides several useful tools for helping Texas English/Language Arts and Reading teachers connect the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) and Pre-AP* and AP* curricular objectives. The purpose of the guide is to help educators incorporate strategies into their teaching that will prepare their students for success in advanced English courses in high school and beyond. Examples of these tools include:
